In the MELT cabinets natural untreated pine transforms into a unique art composition. The cabinets are inspired by the graphic essence of rain and the gradual melting process of ice. Surfaces are built up from hundreds of pine rods which are glued together one at a time on multiple layers. Time-consuming working method enable to create the three-dimensional fluency on the surface.
The surface of the wood is either left untreated, where the aging and patination of the pine is strongly visible, or alternatively it is stained and varnished with sliding coloring
